Abstract - The server is the parent of all computers connected to
a network that functions as a regulator of a network system. Failure on a
server that is not is not a possible solution is needed for the system network
is not compromised. Clustering offers a solution to handle the assignment or
transfer of equity load from one server to another server what if there is
damage to one of the servers. Reliable computer networks can improve the
effectiveness and productivity of a company. In order to maintain service
availability servers (high availability server) can use failover clustering
method on windows server. Failover clustering method is aimed at maintaining
the availability of the server service. If the primary server fail, the backup
server will automatically provide services that prevent downtime and network
server can still serve client requests. Simulations using VMware 7.1.4
application is being installed three operating systems windows server 2003
enterprise edition and FreeNAS 8.3 and configured with failover clustering
method found the backup server can take over the function of the service when
the primary server failure.
